Taking a break from her “Battleship” movie-making efforts, Rihanna enjoyed a little fun in the sun in Honolulu, Hawaii over the holiday weekend (September 5).

Proudly showing off her bikini body (along with her numerous tattoos), the “Don’t Stop the Music” songstress attempted paddle surfing and kayaking before opting to splash around the Pacific waters with her friends and family.

Meanwhile, RiRi has also found time in her busy schedule to partake in hula lessons – wanting to grasp the concept where the dance originated.

According to Daily Mirror reports, Rihanna became interested in learning how to hula after being told that the dance can “channel the love of the Universe.”

Deplorable! The nerve of this guy!

Joran Van der Sloot still remains behind bars in Peru after ruthlessly murdering a 21-year-old Peruvian woman, but that hasn’t stopped him from taking interviews.

Joran is more famously known for another murder, that of Natalee Holloway. For years, Natalee’s parents have tried their damnedest to learn what happen to their daughter and how she was murdered. It is widely believed that Joran killed poor Natalee and though he has denied it countless times, he didn’t see the harm in profiting from it. During his most recent interview from prison, Joran admitted to extorting money from Natalee Holloway’s parents – for revenge!

He revealed that he vengefully accepted money from the couple, in exchange for revealing the location of Natalee’s body. He explains to a Dutch newspaper:

“I wanted to get back at Natalee’s family. Her parents have been making my life tough for five years. When they offered to pay for the girl’s location, I thought: ‘Why not?’”

Why not? WHY NOT?! How about because no matter what you’ve gone through the last five years, they’ve been going through 10 times worse! Their daughter is dead – murdered! Probably by your hands!

What audacity! We hope he gets everything he’s got coming to him!

Andrew Garfield has been given the opportunity of a lifetime and it doesn’t sound like the boy plans on wasting it. Over the weekend, Andrew was out promoting his new movie, Never Let Me Go, but all anyone wanted to hear about was his prep work for the new Spider-Man movie! Andrew graciously shared how things were going in an interview with THR. Here are some HIGHlights:

Have you been prepping for Spider-Man? I have been waiting for this phone call for 24 years, for someone to call me up and say, “Hey, we want you to pretend to be a character that you’ve always wanted to be all your life, and we’re going to do it with cool cameras and cool effects and you’re going to feel like you’re swinging through New York City. Do you want to do that?” (laughs) “Let me just consult with my seven-year old self and see what he thinks…” So my seven-year-old self started screaming in my soul and saying, This is what we’ve been waiting for. Like every young boy who feels stronger on the inside than they look on the outside, any skinny boy basically who wishes their muscles matched their sense of injustice, God, it’s just the stuff that dreams are made of, for sure. It’s a true f—ing honor to be part of this symbol that I actually think is a very important symbol and it’s meant a great deal to me, and it continues to mean something to people. So yeah, I feel like I’ve been preparing for it for a while. Ever since Halloween when I was four years old and I wore my first Spider-Man costume.

What’s your approach to wrapping your brain around the coming shift in terms of your increased visibility with Spider-Man? Not to give it credence, not to give it any of my energy. Just approach it like any other job that I care about deeply. That may be naïve of me to think that I can just get away with that. But if you give focus to something, it will grow. I just want to be an actor, really. And of course all those things came into consideration when I was making the decision. But at the end of the day, I had faith that I would be able to not be defined by it. And I still have faith that I will be able to get lost in roles and just keep doing what I love to do.

Is there any other prep work you’ll need to do? Will you need to change your physicality or do training? I’m sure there will be a bunch of that, yeah. Flexibility is my main focus right now. Making sure that I can be as flexible as possible. It’s all kind of starting up so I haven’t really got much to say about it.

We can’t wait to see just how flexible that will actually be! We’re sure your leading lady, whoever she turns out to be, will feel the same way!

The loved up couple just returned from a romantic Labor Day Weekend getaway to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Rihanna has been busy in Hawaii shooting her new movie, Battleship. But yesterday, she took the time to chat with her fans! Here’s what the 22-year-old Barbadian beauty opened up about:

On her new electrifying and explosive single: “’Only Girl’ is a bigger sound than ‘Rude Boy’.”

On her evolving sound: “I’m done recording the whole album.. I made sure not to let you down with my music! You guys are always defending me, so now you’ve got some great songs to justify it. I didn’t want to go backward and remake [my 2007 album] Good Girl Gone Bad. I wanted the next step in the evolution of Rihanna, and it’s perfect for us.”

On her new perfume: “It’s called Reb’L Fleur.” (The scent is named after her most recent neck tattoo, rebelle fleur, which means rebel flower in French).

Rihanna will premiere her new Stargate-produced single “Only Girl (In The World)” TOMORROW (Sept. 7) at 3AM PST/6AM EST.

Drawing an end to their romantic holiday weekend, Ryan Seacrestand Julianne Hough kissed and hugged as they arrived into Los Angeles, California on Monday (September 6).

The pair are just back from a luxurious getaway to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, during which Ryan and Julianne hit the beach for some much needed relaxation after flying into town on August 4th.

Once finished up saying their goodbyes, Julianne headed off to hop aboard a flight to Atlanta, Georgia to continue work on the new movie “Footloose”.

Meanwhile, Ryan made headlines over the weekend after a funny clip of the “American Idol” host hit the web showing him singing Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” alongside late night legend Larry King.

Spending the evening on the red carpet, Lily Allen and Gemma Arterton attended the UK premiere of “Tamara Drewe” on Monday night (September 6).

Held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London, England, both ladies looked elegant as Miss Allen showed off her baby bump while Miss Arterton dazzled in white.

Both doing their fair share of interviews as press efforts push forth, Lily talked with Daily Record about the nerve-racking early months of pregnancy as she carries boyfriend Sam Cooper’s baby.

She said, “I came off the pill and, weirdly, a week later it happened. But then it was really difficult – I had complications. I had about a week and a half of really heavy bleeding and had to have lots of scans. I’ve been living in fear for the past three months.”

Meanwhile, Gemma dished on how she’d love to play “Wuthering Heights” singer Kate Bush if she were to make a musical biopic film.

Chatting with ITN, she said, “Kate Bush, maybe, in the future. There are a few people [I'd like to play], but they’re still living. I just think it’s weird playing someone who’s still alive. If they’re rock stars they can be quite scary, people like Courtney Love. I love Kate Bush and I reckon I could do a good Kate Bush impression but she’s still alive – good!”

What’s this all about???

This morning, the charges against Tarino Lightbourne and Pleasant Bridgewater, the two men who were allegedly trying to get millions from John Travolta soon after the tragic death of his son Jett, were dropped.

A judge in the Bahamas complied with the request of John himself to free the men of all extortion charges. Sources say that plea baragins for the defendants were in the works for serveral weeks, but the news traveling from the islands say that case has just been closed.

But why John? Why would you let these heartless a-holes walk away free and clear? We’re all for moving on and rebuilding a life, but these guys should pay for the pain they have caused you! What gives???

UPDATE: Chief Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General, Neil Braithwaite, released this statement outside the courthouse in the Bahamas shortly after the charges were dropped:

“The defendants have been discharged. Mr. Travolta is no longer interested in pursuing the matter because it has caused his family great emotional distress.”
